Heather Fiestaware and Depression Glass Table

The color inspiration for this week's table comes from a place mat that Pat found in a drawer. She matched the colors with her favorite dinnerware - Fiesta - and accented the table with Hazel-Atlas Amethyst "Newport" Depression glass.
Pat mixed Heather, White and Sage Fiesta(ware). The Sage Bread/Butter plate is actually an appetizer plate - yes, I'm complaining again....Much to my chagrin, Homer Laughlin Fiesta(ware) does not make bread and butter plates anymore.

Another surprisingly long lasting glassware, Amethyst Newport was produced from 1936-1940.

Pat decided to use amethyst "crackle" glasses for the table since she used teal "crackle" goblets on our other blog this week.

This is an Amethyst "Newport" sherbet and liner by Hazel-Atlas

Where it came from:
Place Mat - from Ross Dress [and Set Your Table] For Less several years ago
Dinnerware - assorted Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Macy's, Kohl's, and Replacements.com
Glassware - Amethyst "Crackle" from Pier 1 three or four years ago
Flatware - Green "Sofia" by Hampton Forge from Tuesday Morning years ago
Depression Glass - "Newport" Amethyst by Hazel-Atlas (1936-1940) from our collection
Purple Candle Holders - from eBay

  1. It is always fun to see depression glass. I am sure I will never be able to learn about even a fraction of it! I really like the Hazel Atlas Amethyst Newport. The Heather Fiesta is interesting, too. Does the Homer Laughlin Company feel as if the bread and butter plates are not used much anymore or is it simply that they think it works to just sub in the appetizer plates? I hope they never discontinue the ramekins or the little fruit bowls---I have a bunch of each and use them all the time!
