Springtime Gardening Table

It's Spring and that means getting out in the garden (flower or vegetable or both.) Although it has not been ideal weather in our area (what with rain, hail, and very cold winds), Pat and I have already made a couple of trips to the nursery and bought plants "waiting" for a dry day. And Pat has definitely got the "Spring bug" with this week's table.
Pat used flower filled dinnerware to create a colorful Spring table

The glass bowl was selected so that the dish pattern could be seen beneath it

Flatware is the very popular "Napoleon Bee" stainless steel by Wallace

The coral charger is actually an inexpensive lacquer charger spray painted with plastic-adhesive spray paint to match the dinnerware

These inexpensive Dollar Tree glasses are the "work horse" of our glass collection - they can be relied upon to look just right when other glassware doesn't seem to "fit."

Technically a bird feeder, Pat used this sweet girl for a flower arrangement

Springtime and Green Depression Glass

While it may not seem like Spring weather even though the calendar tell us that it is here, Pat wanted to set a Spring-theme table. She pulled out one of our single one-place-only settings and set this week's tablescape. She used Royal Albert's "Blossom Time" and mixed it with green Depressionware glass.
Pat started with a pale pink linen place mat and covered it with a lace place mat to add a hint of color.

Most people are familiar with Royal Albert's "Old Country Rose" pattern. "Blossom Time" is my favorite.

I love the classic shape of the cup and saucer

Pat used assorted green Depression ware patterns on the table

Where it came from:
Pink Linen Place Mat - from Tuesday Morning years ago
Lace Place Mat - from Lentz Department Store (a local store now out of business)
Flatware - "April" Silverplate by International Silver from Pat's collection
Dinnerware - "Blossom Time" by Royal Albert from our single place setting collection
Assorted Pattern Depressionware - from various antique stores, eBay, and anywhere we can find it
Vintage Napkin - from Art & Old Things (another local store)

(More) Bunnies, Fiesta(ware) and Carrots Table

Who can resist bunnies? I love them - so Easter is a great time to bring out our collection of sisal and other bunnies and set tables using some of them. (In all honesty, Pat has been known to set bunny tables at all times of the year.....)

The carrot pattern is one of four different plates from the "Vegetable Medley" luncheon plate collection by Franciscan China

Pat tried several Fiesta(ware) dinner plates and finally settled on "Sage"

The scrolls on the charger/placemat reminded Pat of the curves on the handles of the flatware

We found these cute bunnies on a sale rack after Easter at Pier 1 two years ago

Pat filled a glass cylinder with lots of carrots

Colorful Easter Fiestaware Table

Once again, Pat went on a "Fiesta(ware) Frenzy" with this week's table. She drew inspiration from the colorful centerpiece that we found on the extra, extra discount shelf at Pier 1 two years ago. (In fact, we both thought that the Bunny was rather - dare I say it? - ugly, but it was so cheap that Pat decided to get it anyway.) So putting that aside, here is what she came up with:
This table is definitely not for the faint- hearted - lots and lots of bold colors

Pat used Rose, Cinnabar, Lemongrass, Lapis, Daffodil, and Poppy Fiesta(ware). Even the flatware ("Calypso" by Towle) is a fun pattern.

The bright yellow water goblet ("Rio" by Dansk) is the perfect choice

Pat tried several different colored Bread/Butter plates, but she finally settled on "Poppy." The napkin matches the "Lemongrass" luncheon plate.

For additional color, Pat used "Heather" Fiesta(ware) salt and pepper shakers

You can see where the color inspiration came from for the table.......

Where it came from:
Round Blue Place Mat - from Bed, Bath, and Beyond two or three years ago
All Dinnerware - assorted Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Kohl's, Macy's and Replacements.com
