Cinco de Mayo Table for One

To me, celebrating Cinco de Mayo means great food and a colorful table. This year is no exception.
Over view of the table

The place setting

Flatware is "Hammer Handle" by Godinger Silver

Pat used a simple water glass (from the Dollar Store) and a small 12oz. pilsner (we looked for a very long time for small pilsners - ever notice how most of them are huge? People must drink a lot of beer....) Tiny red chilis hang from the napkin to add a touch of color.

First layer of the place setting is a brightly colored bowl - "Chili Peppers" by Laurie Gates

Next layer is a Waechtersbach yellow salad plate

You can tell why the pattern is called "Chili Peppers" from the dinner plate

Pat used two chargers - this is actually the dinner plate in this pattern but it is too larger for a normal plate so Pat usually uses it for a charger

Sorry for the glare - but this is a beautiful blue metal charger from Pier 1

Cuisine Kathleen's Springtime Invitation Table for One

Cuisine Kathleen at "Let's Dish" (http://www.cuisinekathleen.com/) has invited tablescapers to join her this Wednesday for a Spring Time tablescape event. Pat jumped at the chance to do a table for it:

The place setting

I love these glasses -from Pier 1

Pat used the colors from this bowl as the starting point for the table

The burgundy colored charged is "Color Spectrum" by Mikasa

Close up of the flatware - it belonged to Pat's late Mother-in-Law and is gorgeous

Pat used an ornate silver butterfly napkin ring to coordinate with the flatware

You can see from the pitcher why Pat selected the arrangement flowers and colors

This is why I love these glasses - the rim is so unique

Easter Table for One

Although Easter will be spent at Pat's house with lots of family and friends, we wanted to set the Table (for One) anyway. It's always fun to see what Pat can come up with:
Over view of the table

The place setting

Pat bought the flatware at Pier 1 years ago

The egg shaped accent plate was "a steal" from Pier 1 a couple years ago.....

The dinner plate/charger is actually beautiful Rose colored Fiesta

Pat pulled pink Depression glass from our "stash" to use on the table

The bunny napkin holder was less than a dollar from Kohl's after Easter two years ago

The gorgeous hand made candles were a gift from a very dear friend

Table for One April Challenge

We are really excited to be joining Cuisine Kathleen's "Let's Dish" April Blog Challenge this week (http://www.cuisinekathleen.com/.) The theme is "Birds, Nests, and/or Eggs." The table is set - here's what Pat came up with:
Over view of the table

The place setting

Flatware is simple and sleek "Everyday" by Reed & Barton

The accent/salad bird plate is by Sakura

At a dollar a plate, you can't beat this sage green coupe dinner plate for versatility

Inexpensive lacquer charger spray painted with plastic adhesive chocolate brown spray paint

Pat used a tan and a sage green napkin held by a black wire-like napkin ring

This sweet bird figurine is by Lefton China

Pat made a dry/silk flower arrangement and didn't want to use glass rocks in the vase

Of course, a good book while you dine makes the meal even better
