Last of Autumn Table

With wild fires raging in California, it's hard to think that Winter is just around the corner. And, unfortunately, so far, it has been a dry Autumn season. But rain is on the way rain....

To brighten the mood this week, Pat decided to set the table using one of our new "Park Bench" pups plates from Pier 1.
Since "pups" are the theme, the table is decorated with my favorite kind of pups - Dachshunds!

Flatware is "Rustic Twig" from Black Forest Decor (mail order)

Pat tried several different colored plates and decided on "Paprika" Fiesta(ware)

The charger is a "Periwinkle" Fiesta(ware) Chop plate by Homer Laughlin

Pat and I found these on the sale shelf at Pier 1 - we couldn't pass them up at 50% off

The flatware looks really neat on the table but it is NOT practical to use.....The handle is too thin and the "twig" doesn't allow you to grip it

The glass Hurricane candle holder is filled with tiny pine cones that Pat collected on one of her walks
Where it came from:
Round Wicker Place Mat/Charger - from Pier 1's sale shelf this Spring
Blue Charger - "Periwinkle" Fiesta(ware) Chop Plate by Homer Laughlin from Replacements.com
Dinner Plate, Matching Bread/Butter Plate, and Salt/Pepper Shakers - "Paprika" Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Macy's and Replacements.com
Accent Plate - "Park Bench Pups" from Pier 1 this season
Flatware - "Rustic Twig" from Black Forest Decor two or three years ago
Glassware - "Sphere" from Pier 1 several years ago
Mug - also from Pier 1's pups collection but from last year
Dachshund Figurines - Sandra Brue Sandicast from a local Hallmark store years ago now out of business
Glass Hurricane Candle Holder - from our collection

Lenox Autumn Table

One of the most popular and enduring patterns produced by Lenox is "Autumn." It is one of Pat's favorites. It is part of their Presidential collection and features its signature Ivory color base with dozen of hand applied individual raised dots on the blue scroll/fruit rim and center floral basket.

Instead of the usual gold charger, Pat used a "Colonial Blue" Color Spectrum service plate by Mikasa

The gold trimmed glassware is from Pier 1

Where it came from:
Charger/Service Plate - Colonial Blue "Color Spectrum" (1992-1993) by Mikasa from Replacements.com
Dinnerware - "Autumn" by Lenox from eBay (part of our single place setting collection)
Flatware - Pattern unknown from eBay several years ago
Gold Trimmed Glassware - from Pier 1 last year
Candle Holders - from a local antique store three or four years ago
Glass Basket - from our local Cancer Society's Discovery Shop this year

Bird Time Table

Keeping with a "bird theme" for the tablescape this week (our other blog features parrots and cockateels), the table was set using Pier 1's "Field Notes" earthenware.
Pat's daughter set the table this week while she was here for a weekend visit and teaching seminar

The "Edme" charger by Wedgwood is a bit of a "surprise" but it works - Jennifer paired it with a matching bread and butter plate

The amber glassware is from Pier 1 years ago

Flatware is "Classic Bead" by Reed & Barton

Where it came from:
Light Blue Hemstitch Place Mat - from Tuesday Morning two years ago
Charger, Matching Bread and Butter Plate, and Salt/Pepper Shakers - "Edme" by Wedgwood from Replacements and eBay
Dinnerware - "Field Notes" from Pier 1 last year

Thanksgiving With Betty TFO

This week's table was set for fun - Pat pulled one of my porcelain Betty Boop figurines out of the curio and used it as the inspiration for a Thanksgiving Day table.
Betty always makes for a "glamorous" table

Dinnerware is "Old Britain Castles" by Johnson Brothers

For more fun, Pat mixed modern flatware and glassware with the more traditional looking dinnerware

The charger is "Royal Blue" Color Spectrum by Mikasa

We found these unique goblets at Replacements.com several years ago - "Reflections Blue" by Imperial Glass Company
