Yellow and Blue Winter Day Table

It's been a wild winter for everyone it seems - record storms, blizzards, heat waves throughout the country. Here on the North Coast of California, we have had record rain (which is wonderful since we have been under drought conditions for the last four years) and all that comes with it: flooding, slides, huge mud holes, road closures, etc. Today is no exception - wet, dark, and storming. So to brighten the day a bit, Pat set the table with sunny colors.....
Pat overlapped two placemats to add more color

The blue ceramic handled flatware is by Noritake

Where it came from:
Blue and Yellow Placemats - Bed, Bath, and Beyond last year
Dinnerware - "San Marino" from Pier 1
Bread/Butter Plate - White Fiesta by Homer Laughlin from Replacements
Navy Blue Flatware - ceramic handled Noritake from eBay and Replacements

Royal Albert "Concerto" Table

When we started the "Table for One" blog, we wanted to use it to showcase some of our favorite place settings.  Well, this week's table is no exception. Pat used Royal Albert's "Concerto" as the inspiration and took it from there.....

Flatware is black "San Remo" by Hampton Forge

Another gorgeous rose pattern from Royal Albert - not as famous or well known as "Old Country Roses" but just as beautiful (Pat thinks that Concerto is much more attractive.)

Where it came from:
Charger - Black "Color Spectrum" by Mikasa from Replacements.com
Dinnerware - "Concerto" by Royal Albert from our collection of single place settings
Napkin - Handmade by Pat
Napkin Ring and Glassware - from Pier 1
Black Bowl (used for the flowers) - "Mt. Pleasant" by L.E. Smith Glass Co. (a gift from our Cousin)
Candle Holders and Silk Roses - Michael's
Armani Figurine - from our Mother's collection

Rustic Table with Birds

This week's table is a mix of elegant and rustic - Pat combined a Wedgwood Edme charger with a vintage Alfred Meakin "Birds of America" series' plate.

Flatware is "Montana" by Gourmet Settings

The "Birds of America" plates were produced until 1941.

The glass plate is Cris d'Arques (Durand) green Color Moods.

I love the Wedgwood "Edme" charger.

The rustic placemat is from Bed, Bath, and Beyond

Pat used Dollar Store green glassware to go with the green glass plate

Where it came from:
Placemat - from Bed, Bath, and Beyond
Charger - "Edme" by Wedgwood from Replacements.com
Green Glass Plate - a gift from Pat
Bird Accent Plate - from "Birds of America" series by Alfred Meakin from eBay

Spode's Rosebud Chintz Table

Years ago, Pat was given a place setting of Spode Rosebud Chintz by her husband's aunt. Today, Pat took it out of the cupboard and set a sweet table:
The table - sweet and simple

Flatware is green "Sofia" by Hampton Forge

I love the delicate flowers and swirl of the rim

Pat took this charger out of my cupboard and said, "It's ugly....Let's use it." I think it's perfect for the setting.

We acquired this glassware several years ago - "Rosaline" by J.G. Durand

I thought that this was a really unique idea - Pat made a flower arrangement in a pink depression glass sugar and creamer set

Another one of our Mother's Armani figurines

Where it came from:
Green Charger - from Pier 1 last year
Dinnerware - "Rosebud Chintz" by Spode from Pat
Flatware - Green "Sofia" by Hampton Forge from Tuesday Morning
Glassware - "Rosaline" by J.G. Durand from Replacements
Depression Glass - from our collection
Armani Figurine - from our Mother
14" Tapers - from the Ferndale Emporium (a local gift boutique)
Silk Roses - from Michael's
