Fun Gnome Table

What could be more fun than to have lunch with a gnome? Obviously Pat thought so as she set this week's Table For One.....

Flatware is by Noritake - I bought my first set forty years ago in brown. I really liked it then and I still like it. Together, Pat and I now have the pattern in six different colors.

Sorry the picture is so bad - this is the newer "Cobalt" Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin. The vintage "Cobalt" (from 1936 through 1951) is somewhat lighter and brighter

Pat wanted to use the matching Gnome bowl so she made a candle holder out of it

Where it came from:
Round Place Mat - from Pier 1 several years ago
Red Charger and Bowl - "Fun Factory" by Waechtersbach from Replacements.com
Dinner Plate -  "Cobalt" Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Macy's (still available)
Yellow Accent Plate and Bowl - Name and manufacturer have been listed as several things but from eBay
Bread/Butter Plate - "Cobalt" Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Replacements.com (Homer Laughlin is no longer producing bread and butter plates in Fiesta)
Blue Water Goblet - from Mervyn's Department store at least twenty years ago
Champagne Flute - "Bubbles Galore" by Maxwell & Williams Crystal from Tuesday Morning three or four years ago
Flatware - Cobalt Primastone handle by Noritake from eBay
Red Hemstitch Napkin and Napkin Ring - from Pier 1 two years ago
Cobalt Blue Salt and Pepper Shakers - from Pat's collection

Gnome - from Tuesday Morning last year

Hearty Pasta Table

Pat was on another roll this week - the theme? Italian. Both of our blogs feature tablescapes with an old country feel (our dear, sweet Italian Grandma always referred to her native home land as "the old country" and never called it Italy.)

The massive individual pasta bowl is a whopping 12 1/2" across. Pat found them at Tuesday Morning several years ago for my retirement party. They were a hit with all the attendees since she served three different types of pasta.

Flatware is "Musee" by Reed & Barton

The black and white checked napkin coordinates with the chef's apron

In addition to the huge pasta bowl, the set included a small bowl to hold olive oil for dipping and a bread/butter plate. The small red plate is a "Scarlett" Fiesta(ware) bread and butter plate by Homer Laughlin.

Pat placed a small bowl of red geraniums in the center of the table for added color
Pat even made the candles for the table taking old wine bottles that she found and melted inexpensive red and white candles from the Dollar Tree (expensive candles do not work since they don't melt like the cheap ones)

Where it came from:
Red Charger - "Fun Factory" by Waechtersbach from Replacements.com
White Dinnerware - Commercial grade serveware from Tuesday Morning several years ago
Bread and Butter Plate - "Scarlett" Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Replacements.com
Flatware - "Musee" by Reed & Barton from Horchow's three years ago
Glassware - from the Dollar Store (currently available)
Checked Napkin - from Pier 1 this year
Chef Figurine Centerpiece - from Ross two or three years ago

Glamour and Glitz With Betty and Lenox Table

This table combines two of my favorite things: Betty Boop and Lenox dinnerware. (Yes, it is a weird combination, but it seems to work.....)
Pat set the table using two Betty's - the nearly 4" tall Betty does her best Vanna White imitation "showing the table"....

Dinnerware is "Mansfield" by Lenox - its simplicity makes it perfect to mix patterns

Glamorous porcelain Betty is from Danbury Mint

I nearly died when Pat and her daughter carried a huge box into my living room several years ago - then I opened it....WOW! I fell in love. Needless to say, Betty made herself at home in the living room...…..

Where it came from:
Dinnerware - "Mansfield" by Lenox from Pat's daughter and Replacements.com
Accent Plate - "Mondano Lace" by Lenox from eBay
Flatware - by Jankng from eBay
Black Glassware - assorted Depression Glass from our collection
Napkin Ring - from Pier 1 several years ago
Black Candle Holders - by Westmoreland Glass from eBay
Big Glamorous Betty Boop - a gift from Pat and her daughter (from Heuer's Florist - a local store now out of business)
Little Betty Boop - from Danbury Mint years ago
