Essential Oils Inspired Table

I can honestly say that our family loves essential oils. We all use them in a multitude of ways - to clean, to heal, to brighten our day. We even use essential oils on our pets. After Pat finished setting the table for our other blog, she couldn't think of a theme for the Table for One this week. As we were talking, she showed me her "Lava Bracelet" that she recently bought. Voila!..... A theme was born....
Modern, sleek, simple.....an "alternative" to the usual round plate just like essential oils are an alternative to standard medicine, cosmetics, cleaning supplies, pesticides, etc.

Flatware is polished stainless steel "Fluence" by Oneida

Instead of the traditional "pull through" or folded napkin, Pat wrapped it around the dinner plate

The bracelet has porous black lava rocks - you put a drop of essential oil on them and it acts as a "portable" diffuser. I love the tiny bottle filled with essential oil that came with the bracelet.

Where it came from:
Blue and White Place Mats - from Bed, Bath, and Beyond three years ago
Dinnerware - Pattern unknown by 10 Strawberry Street from Cuddly Bear (a local thrift store)
Flatware - "Fluence" by Oneida from Replacements.com three or four years ago
Clear Glassware - from the Dollar Tree (still available)
Blue Napkin - from Tuesday Morning this year
Blue Champagne Trumpet Glass - from eBay
Blue Candle Holders - from the Discovery Shop (the Cancer Society Thrift Store)

We will be joining the following Blog parties this week:
"Dishing It! & Digging It!" at Rustic & Refined this Sunday:  http://www.rustic-refined.com/
"Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch:  http://betweennapsontheporch.net/
"The Scoop Link  Party" at Stone Gable: (Here)

Absolutely Nothing to Do with Tablescaping:
I use Essential Oils for lots of things:
1. I have lost 50 pounds changing to a plant based whole foods diet and using "Slim and Sassy" to help curb my appetite.
2. I clean grout with a mixture of baking soda paste (just a little water), a little white vinegar, and a few drops of lemon and peppermint essential oil.
3 A safe and environmentally sound shampoo for my dachshunds is Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap, water, and an essential oil (I use Eucalyptus to safely and soundly keep fleas away)
4. I recently got a cold sore after visiting the Dentist. Using Peppermint Essential oil, it went way than a week.
5. Pat uses different mixes in her diffusers that she has throughout her house for all kinds of things: stuffy noses, calming qualities, etc.
And the list goes on and on...…….

  1. What a creative table! The blue/black/clear or white color scheme of the bracelet makes for a lovely sleek and modern tablesetting. And I love the bracelet idea for essential oils, I'll have to look into that.
