Yellow and Blue Winter Day Table

It's been a wild winter for everyone it seems - record storms, blizzards, heat waves throughout the country. Here on the North Coast of California, we have had record rain (which is wonderful since we have been under drought conditions for the last four years) and all that comes with it: flooding, slides, huge mud holes, road closures, etc. Today is no exception - wet, dark, and storming. So to brighten the day a bit, Pat set the table with sunny colors.....
Pat overlapped two placemats to add more color

The blue ceramic handled flatware is by Noritake

Where it came from:
Blue and Yellow Placemats - Bed, Bath, and Beyond last year
Dinnerware - "San Marino" from Pier 1
Bread/Butter Plate - White Fiesta by Homer Laughlin from Replacements
Navy Blue Flatware - ceramic handled Noritake from eBay and Replacements
Yellow Water Glass - "Rio" by Dansk from Replacements
Blue Wine Glass - by Artland mail order from Target
Yellow Napkin Ring - Handmade from PVC pipe cut into 1" rounds and spray painted
Yellow Candle Holders - from our collection
Blue Candles - from the Ferndale Mercantile Company (a local store)

We will be joining the following Blog Parties this week:

  1. This table is like a summer day in the middle of winter. I love that yellow candleholder and the way it seems to wrap itself around the candle. And daisies are some of my favorite flowers. Cold as it has been here, we are in for a brief warmup this week, and here in Georgia spring is not far off. I just hope we get a long spell of mild weather before summer really kicks in!

  2. Very pretty colors. They make a striking combination. Table for one is always sweet. Just enough color to brighten our Winter. Thanks for linking up with Table It link party.

I love the way you pulled all of your colors from the "San Marino" plates! A striking tablescape for one. I do take the time to do a pretty table for myself and this is one idea I will try to recreate! Hopefully Pier 1 will have a sale on the dinnerware. Thank you for your time and effort in posting your idea and beautiful photos. NANCY
