Rodeo Time Table

This time of the year means rodeos and fairs in Humboldt County, CA. To celebrate, Pat set this week's table in a cowboy theme.

It's seems a bit ironic.....Cowboy dishes by Montana Lifestyles made in Thailand??????

Pat and I walked into Pier 1 recently and found eight of these on the "very on sale" rack....Naturally, they came home with us.

The detail is amazing on this figurine/doll.

Where it came from:
Wicker Place Mat - from the sale shelf at Pier 1 this year
Dinnerware - "Cowboy Reflections" by Montana Lifestyles from eBay
Bread/Butter Plate - "Chocolate" Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Replacements.com
Flatware - "Iron Brown" by Noritake (I've owned this flatware for 40 years....it is really sturdy stuff!)
Red Glass - from the Ferndale Emporium (a local kitchen ware and gift shop)
Beer Pilsner - from Ross years ago
Napkin Ring - from Bed, Bath, and Beyond three or four years ago
Lantern - from Michael's three years ago
Figurine/Doll - from Richard Simmons' Annie Wahl collection (one of our Mother's dolls)

Spode Delamere Bouquet and Betty

This week's table is another fun one - Pat set it using Spode's "Delamere Bouquet" and Betty Boop (yes, an odd combination but it works....)

The hemstitch lavender napkin is "tied" with a metal napkin ring

Flatware is sweet "April" silverplate by Wm Rogers & Son

I love the lavender floral design - so old fashion looking

Pat's "go to" glassware - inexpensive Dollar Tree goblets

Classic design for the cup and saucer but an interesting handle

You can't help loving Betty.....especially in her lavender dress and hat.

Where it came from:
Purple Glass Charger - from Ross Dress [and Set Your Table] For Less years ago
Dinnerware - "Delamere Bouquet" by Spode (2014-2016) from Replacements.com
Flatware - "April" by Wm Rogers & Son from Pat's collection
Glassware - Inexpensive Dollar Tree goblets (still available)
Hemstitch Napkin - from Tuesday Morning last year
Napkin Ring - from Bed, Bath, and Beyond three or four years ago
Purple Sherbet - from eBay
Crystal Basket - from the Cancer Society's Discovery Shop this year
Betty Boop - from my collection
Purple Candle - also from Ross several years ago

Spode Indian Tree Table

Many porcelain dinnerware manufacturers have produced their version of an "India[n] Tree" pattern over the years. My favorite is by Spode because of the vivid copper, rust, and amber/orange colors. Pat and I are lucky enough to own a complete set for eight. Today, she paired it with a more casual square copper charger.

The unique copper flatware is Italian "Rialto" by Ricci

In addition to pattern, another thing individual and unique to a manufacturer is the shape of the cup. This one is no exception.

We found these square copper chargers at Pier 1 years ago

Another Armani figurine from our Mother (I keep saying we inherited our collecting addiction from Mom. There wasn't a wall or spot in the house when we were growing up that didn't "store" or display something she collected....)

Where it came from:
Square Copper Charger - from Pier 1 several years ago
Dinnerware - "Indian Tree" by Spode from eBay and Replacements.com
Flatware - Copper "Rialto" by Ricci Argentieri from eBay
Glassware - "Fedora" by Spiegelau from Replacements.com
Napkin - Handmade by Pat to match the dinnerware
Amber Candle Holders and Vase - from our collection
Armani Figurine - from our Mother's collection
