The table is set for two with lots of love and memories....
Over view of the table - filled with our Dad's "treasures"
The place setting consists of a red charger from Crate & Barrel and the highly recognizable plate and mug "procured" by an unnamed Master Chief for his dishaholic sister 30 years ago....
Yes, we could have "borrowed" actual Navy flatware but thought better of it since we are already using "hot" dishware
This flatware is "Vault" by Gourmet Settings
Simple clear glass tumbler
The hat is very old and in pretty rough shape..........
Dad's camera is even older and in worse shape, but what memories it captured over the years....
We borrowed one of our brother's figurines
We did spare you pictures of the South Pacific......and scantily clothed Hula girls, goofy looking sailors, etc.
One last look at the table
Flatware - "Vault" by Gourmet Settings from Costco
Red Charger - from Crate & Barrel years ago
Dishware - "Midnight Requisition" from the Chief's Mess somewhere over the Pacific

We will be joining Cuisine Kathleen's "Let's Dish" this Wednesday: http://www.cuisinekathleen.com/
This is a wonderful tablesetting and I love the tribute to your Dad and Brother.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to honor your dad and brother! I enjoy all of the great memorabilia with the spare but patriotic table settings. I have to say, though, that now I am looking forward to a future table set with hula girls and goofy sailors! LOL!
ReplyDeleteGreat tribute to your father and brother! You've shown how simple dishes and a themed vignette can communicate volumes! Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table! Love the personal memories and the theme.
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific way to celebrate the life of your dad! Including your dad's and brother's items were a great idea. Your table is sentimental, which is my favorite way to set a table, and full of true treasures. I appreciate your family's sacrifice and dedication to serve our country.
