Ready for Winter Table

After sitting in the dark for three hours last night, this week's Table for One is the perfect design. It features Betty Boop with her big umbrella to protect her from the rain and an emergency hand cranked radio for power failures. (Here in California, we are getting used to the idea of the electric company's mandatory rolling "safety" power outages to prevent fires - last night was just due to the weather but it was still uncomfortable. I should be grateful - it was only three hours and not three days like before.....)

Flatware is fun "Silver Tear" by Gourmet Settings

I love the footed soup bowl - "Fun Factory" by Waechtersbach

The luncheon plate is "Scarlett" Fiesta(ware)

Pat picked "Daffodil" Fiesta(ware) to bring in lots of color

The gigantic charger looks like it weighs a ton but it is surprisingly light - "Espana" by Tabletops Unlimited

Pat's favorite - simple glassware from the Dollar Tree

This is a great little radio/flashlight - it is a hand cranked solar power AM/FM radio and flashlight with battery and USB charging capabilities

Where it came from:
Yellow Place Mat - from Bed, Bath, and Beyond several years ago
Cobalt Blue Charger - "Espana" by Tabletops Unlimited from the Cancer Society's Discovery Thrift store several years ago
Dinner Plate and Matching Small Appetizer/Bread and Butter Plate - "Daffodil" Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Macy's and Replacements.com
Luncheon Plate - "Scarlett" Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Kohl's
Footed Red Bowl - "Fun Factory" by Waechterbach from Replacements.com
Flatware - "Silver Tear" by Gourmet Settings from Bed, Bath, and Beyond several years ago
Glassware - from the Dollar Tree (still available)
Gold Hemstitch Napkin - from Pier 1 three years ago
Radio - from Amazon this year
Betty Boop - from my collection

This week, we will be joining "Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch:  http://betweennapsontheporch.net/

  1. You certainly made a bright, fun tablescape to chase the darkness away! I'm so sorry you're still having to deal with power outages. Betty Boop is the perfect touch to protect your table from the rain. Happy New Year!

  2. Love this table! Bright and cheery in the middle of a cold, dreary time of year. I'm considering breaking out my orange tablecloth and 'motivating' from there! Love, love, love color. Even better when it's a fun tablescape like this!
