Johnson Brothers Friendly Village Luncheon Table

It seemed only natural to set the table this week using Johnson Brother's "Friendly Village" since we set our other tablescaping blog with their "Olde English Countryside" dinnerware. Our Mother originally collected "Friendly Village" many years ago and we were fortunate enough to inherit it.

Pat mixed in vintage silverplate flatware with the place setting to add a slightly formal look

Love the signature square salad plate

For a charger, Pat used a "Periwinkle" Fiesta(ware) chop plate

We found a set of eight vintage placemats and matching napkins at a local antique store years ago

Where it came from:
Place Mat and Matching Napkin - from Art & Old Things (a local antique store) several years ago
Charger - "Periwinkle" Fiesta(ware) Chop Plate by Homer Laughlin from Replacements.com
Dinnerware - "Friendly Village" by Johnson Brothers from our Mother
Flatware - "Reverie" Silverplate by Oneida from eBay
Foliage and Greenery - from Michael's

This week, we will be joining "Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch:  http://betweennapsontheporch.net/

  1. Friendly Village is one of my favorite patterns on transferware, although I don't own any of it. I've admired it often and I certainly would love to sit down at this table for one! How fortunate you and Pat are to have inherited your mother's collection, and how lovely to remember her as you use it.

  2. This is great, Katie - I love this pattern! It's so fun to use family heirlooms isn't it? It makes the meal extra special. I love the square plates too. What an excellent post and beautiful table. Happy Halloween to both of you!
