Breakfast by the Shore

My hometown sits on the Northern coast of California - I can look out my back door and see Humboldt Bay (the second largest, deep water enclosed bay in the State.) So, it seems natural to set the table often with a seaside theme......

Concours Betty Table

This week's table practically set itself after Pat and her husband participated in the local "First Annual Ferndale Concours on Main" - a gathering and competition of restored historic cars. They are judged on "their quality of restoration to original.....as well as their condition, preparation and operation." Jim and Pat entered their gorgeous 1958 Triumph TR3 roadster - not to be outdone by the vintage Jaguars, Ferraris, Packards, and on and on at the event.

So - here's our tribute to the Concours - albeit Betty Boop style.....

Flatware is "Everyday" by Reed & Barton stainless

Fiesta(ware) was the natural choice for the dishes since the colors went so well with Betty's car

Pat used the show's identifying plaque that hangs on the entrant's car door as a placemat

Betty and her divine roadster....definitely an award winner

Pat made an arrangement of pink and lavender silk roses to coordinate with Betty's outfit

Lunch with Betty Boop Table

I collect Betty Boop figurines.....yes, I admit it....another addiction to add to my other addictions: dishes (and flatware, chargers and glasses,) Santa Clauses, vintage movies, Nativity scenes, cook books, succulents, and the "problem" goes on and on. But sometimes, you can take one of those addictions and "mix it" with another and make something neat. That's what Pat did for this week's Table for One:
Isn't she beautiful?? So classy.......
