American Sweetheart Monax Table for One

American Sweetheart Depression glass was only manufactured for six or seven years (1930 through approx. 1936-7) but was extremely strong and long lasting. Much of it remains. Pat and I have dishware in both pink American Sweetheart and Monax (white with translucent edges.) The table is set today using Monax and yellow.

 Where it came from:
Yellow Placemat - from Bed, Bath, and Beyond several years ago
Dinnerware - Monax "American Sweetheart" by MacBeth-Evans Glass Company from antique stores, eBay, and Replacements.com
Flatware - "Image" by Spode from Tuesday Morning
Glassware - Pattern unknown but produced by the French manufacturer Portieux
Napkins - from Pier 1 this season
Napkin Ring - from Bed, Bath, and Beyond two years ago
White Salt/Pepper shakers - from Target years ago
Vases and Silk Tulips - from Michael's
Candle and Candle Holder - from Pier 1

  1. I love the American sweetheart Monax. Its translucent edges give off an almost bluish tint - very pretty with the yellow. Happy Easter!

  2. Such a soft and sweet palette, love this table. Those dishes are to die for! I used to have a ton of milk glass with the grapevine pattern but lost tons of it in a move. Seing this makes me want it again or to find ones similar to yours.

  4. Such a pretty spring table! I've never seen this pattern before, but love its scalloped edges and delicate designs. I'm going to keep my eyes open for it while antiquing! Rosie @ The Magic Hutch
