Fall FiestaTablescape for One

Like everyone else who tablescapes, we wanted to do at least one Fall tablescape. Pat couldn't resist using Fiesta dishware (I have been on a no-to-dishes-that-we-use-frequently kick), but I agreed with her for this tablescape. Fall colors "shout" Fiesta dinnerware when you couple them with one of our favorite placemats.

The place setting

Flatware is ceramic handled "Iron Brown" by Noritake

Pat used this small leaf-shaped bowl to add some height and additional color to the place setting

The next layer of the place setting is a "Sunflower" Fiesta salad plate

This is a "Tangerine" Fiesta luncheon plate

Finally, Pat used a "Chocolate" Fiesta Dinner plate and Bread/Butter plate to complete the place setting

Yes, "cheesy" I know, but the green Dollar Store glasses were the only glasses that looked good with the Fall place setting

Fitz & Floyd Crane with Pine Table for One

On Friday, Pat came over to help me organize and straighten out some of the shelves in "the dishroom" (yes, I do have a room dedicated to just tablescaping stuff, but we won't go into that now.....the family already thinks I'm over the dish edge as it is....) Anyway, she found the inspiration plate for this week's Table for One as she was moving a mountain of plates around.
The weather was not cooperating with us - sorry the picture is a bit dark

The place setting

I have to admit it - the inspiration plate is really lovely in person.

To accent the tiny bit of paprika color on top of the crane's head, Pat used a paprika colored plate from Pier 1's "Spice Route" collection

This plate is also from Pier 1

Flatware is "Gold Iconic" by Wallace Silver

Pat chose black stemmed glassware to give the table a more formal feel

Black Depressionware candle holders from our collection

Woodfield by Steubenville Table for One

I love the pattern "Woodfield" by Steubenville Potteries. I would love to have dozens of place settings in all five colors if I could. The pattern was produced in the 1940's and is not considered very collectible. I don't care. I love it. And when I found a complete place setting on eBay for a very reasonable price - even if the color was salmon - I jumped at the chance to get it.

So, next I had to talk Pat into using it on the "Table for One." Yes, the color is.....dare I say, ugly? But the pattern is so unique. And think of the challenge to come up with a tablescape using it???? Finally, she gave in - especially, since I left it in plain site for weeks to remind her every time she came over. I wore her down.....
Over view of the table. Pat started with a burlap tabletop to give it a rustic, Autumn feel.

Yes, this looks pink - but I have to be honest, it is a very homely salmon color in person.

Pat used "Treble Clef" by Gourmet Settings for flatware

Don't all serious tablescapers have the Dollar Store "Green" glassware?

Still looks pink here.....

This is closer to the actual color

Completely out of Pat's comfort zone, she chose this glitzy napkin ring from Pier 1

Pat found this handcrafted basket given to me as a gift years ago and turned it into the centerpiece

One last look
Pat couldn't stand it any longer.....she replaced the beautiful "Woodfield" with a couple of other patterns just to see what it would look like.
Here is the highly recognizable "Friendly Village" by Johnson Brothers - yes, predictable, but "comfortable" for Pat

I love this choice that Pat made - highly personal - the china belonged to our Mother and was used for "company" when we were young. It is "September Song" by Sango. Not expensive. Not collectible. And not even very serviceable. But it has so very many memories......I treasure it.

Lenox Rutledge Table for One

Pat's husband just finished spray painting dozens of chargers in assorted colors for us, and one color just stood out from the rest. Both Pat and I wanted to use it this week for the Table for One - Pat picked out a place setting that would work with it and came up with this tablescape:
Over view of the table

Pat combined gold flatware with the teal charger and off-white dishware

The detail on the plate is fabulous - you can see why Pat chose this pattern to go with the charger

Glassware is from Pier 1 a couple of years ago

A simple vintage napkin holds the forks

Don't ask me why but you can buy the cup with just one gold ring or three like this one.......

Just had to show you this plate - it is the 9 1/2" Accent plate that you can buy to coordinate with the pattern

One last look - check out the flower arrangement.  Pat made it using colors of the flowers on the plate
Where it came from:
Teal Blue Charger - Inexpensive lacquer charger from Michael's sale bin spray painted with plastic adhesive spray paint
Flatware - "Gold Iconic" by Wallace from Replacements
Dishware - "Rutledge" by Lenox from eBay and Replacements
Glassware - from Pier 1 several years ago
Candle Holders - Depression glass from our collection
Candles - from Bed, Bath, and Beyond
Napkin - Vintage from our collection
