Nostalgic Table for One

This week's table brings back lots of memories for both Pat and me. All of the dishes, glassware, flatware, and napkin were purchased nearly forty years ago - some by Pat and some by me. We did not realize until today that our early purchases would coordinate so well (or that we both bought a lot of Noritake.....)
Over view of the table

The place setting

Flatware is "Iron Brown" by Noritake (this was the first flatware pattern that I bought back in 1974.)

The dish pattern is "Desert Flower" by Noritake - the salad plate comes in four different flowers (Pat and her wonderful Mother-in-Law both bought six place settings of this pattern in 1976.)

Glassware is brown "Clarion" (I bought these glasses to go with my set of "Softwind" Temperware by Lenox in 1975)

Pat added a hand carved Desert Tortoise

Even the napkin is vintage - I bought eight of them in 1977 (ever notice that instead of calling something "old," we now call it "vintage"? Guess that I'm very vintaged, too........)

One last look
Where it came from:
Brown Charger - inexpensive Lacquer charger spray painted in Fusion Spray paint
Dishware - "Desert Flowers" by Noritake from Walsh's (a local store years ago where all brides-to-be and young marrieds bought nice dishware)
Flatware - "Iron Brown" by Noritake (also from Walsh's)
Glassware - "Clarion" by Noritake (from Walsh's)
Candle and Silk Flowers - from Michael's

We will be joining Susan at "Between Naps on the Porch" this Thursday:  http://betweennapsontheporch.net/

  1. Love this table. Reminds me of some of my first dishes when I got married in the 70's! I wish I had some of those dishes now!! The glasses go with this perfectly!
