Apple Challenge

Tablescape challenges are always fun, and Cuisine Kathleen from "Let's Dish"  (http://www.cuisinekathleen.com/) issued another one this week for all tablescapers - create a table using apples as the theme. Pat went to one of my curios and pulled out a Richard Simmons figurine and designed a table around it. Here's the tablescape that she came up with:
Over view of the table

Close up of the place setting

Flatware is the very popular "Treble Clef" by Gourmet Settings

The simple red tumbler looks great when used with the olive green stem water glass

We use these a lot, but it is hard to find brown salt and pepper shakers

Called by many names (water lily, artichoke, lotus, etc.) this easy to do napkin fold holds a Fuji apple

This is a Scarlett Fiesta Luncheon plate - not quite true red - but it goes perfectly with the Fuji apple

An over sized stoneware sage green dinner plate acts as a charger

This Richard Simmons figurine was the inspiration for the table

One last look at the table
Where it came from:
Placemat - from Pier 1
Flatware - "Treble Clef" by Gourmet Settings from Bed, Bath, and Beyond
Sage Green Dinner Plate - from a local Supermarket
Scarlett Luncheon and Bread/Butter Plate - Fiesta by Homer Laughlin from Replacements
Red Tumbler - Pier 1
Olive Green Goblet - "Diamond Point" by Indiana Glass Company from eBay
Plaid Napkin - from Tuesday Morning
Apple Gathering Lady Figurine - from Richard Simmons' Annie Wahl Dolls (our Mother's collection)

We will be joining Cuisine Kathleen's "Let's Dish" this Wednesday:  http://www.cuisinekathleen.com/
