First Table of Fall

Even though we have experienced some record breaking heat, the calendar says it is Autumn. So, Pat set this week's table with that in mind.

The antique copper flatware is "Rustic Twig"

I bought these remarkably durable glasses 40 years ago (although I have replaced a few due to earthquakes)

Not Quite Oktoberfest Table

We're calling this week's table "Not Quite Oktoberfest" because of the dishes that were used - Mikasa's "Kabuki" - a very un-German looking pattern, but the colors are perfect to compliment the inspiration Beer Stein that Pat used for a centerpiece vase.

Flatware is "Grand Colonial" by Wallace

This Hutschenreuther "Racine" luncheon plate was used to give the place setting some separation

These cute little figurines were a gift from a friend while she visited Germany several years ago

Noritake Momentum Table

Choosing a dinnerware pattern is definitely personal and individual. What one person loves, another may just shake her head in disbelief. Thus the story of this week's pattern used on the Table for One. Pat fell in love with Noritake's "Momentum" the first time she saw it. I, on the other hand, do not "share" her love....in fact, I think it is ugly. But that never stops us from using it on a table.

Pat reused the flatware and goblets from last week (I hadn't put them away yet.....)

The place setting.......Pat loves the versatility of the pattern colors. She mixed it with several different chargers and settle on this color.

Lenox "Mansfield" Table

Lenox produced the classic pattern "Mansfield" from 1950 through 2005. It is simple and elegant and sets a beautiful table. It's so popular in my family that three people own this set of dinnerware.

For inspiration this week, Pat went to my "Armani curio" (that holds a collection of our Mother's Armani figurines which I am blessed to caretake) and pulled out "Harlequin." Here's what she did with him:

Plates are decorated with a simple gold trim and thin gold verge

Pat matched the Harlequin's costume with spray paint and asked her husband to paint this inexpensive lacquer charger

The glassware is accented with just a touch of gold

Using the various colors from the Harlequin's costume, Pat set several variations to the table but settled on rust.
