Italian Night Dinner Tablescape

During the last two weeks, Pat has featured two of her favorite past times on the table - reading mysteries and gardening. Perhaps her favorite past time of all is cooking. So it seemed natural to set this week's table for a dinner featuring some of her vintage cookbooks.

We found the dinnerware at Tuesday Morning two years ago

Flatware is "Vintage Countryside" by Ricci

The very heavy, over-sized charger was just $1.00 at the Cancer Society's Discovery Thrift Shop - naturally we bought all twelve of them.

Pat used simple glassware - from the Dollar Tree.

It took two candles but Pat finally got enough melted wax on the wine bottle to look good......

The top cookbook was published in 1962 - from the inscription on the inside cover, it was bought by our Dad that year. The dust jacket is a bit worn but it still holds lots of memories. He was a professional Chef and loved to collect and read cookbooks of all kinds.

Where it came from:
Charger - "Espana" by Tabletops Unlimited from the Cancer Society's Discovery Thrift Shop several years ago
Dinnerware - by Ceramica Cuore from Tuesday Morning two or three years ago
Flatware - "Vintage Countryside" by Ricci
Bread and Butter Plate - "Scarlett" Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Replacements.com
Glassware - from the Dollar Tree (still available)
Red Hemstitch Napkin - from Pier 1 two or three years ago
Italian Chef - from TJMaxx three or four years ago
Candle - Handmade by Pat

This week, we will be joining "Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch:  http://betweennapsontheporch.net/

  1. I love to find good chargers for a great price! Those pretty green ones anchor this place setting so well. And the cookbook theme is darling. Bon appetit!
