Schumann Wild Rose Table

I have been collecting Schumann's "Wild Rose" for forty-five years. I just love it. (I chose it as my "good" china pattern before I was married - then, less than one year later, it was discontinued by the manufacturer. Just my luck....soon the rose pattern was purchased by another manufacturer but the quality was not the same and was also later discontinued.)

Needless to say, I look for it whenever Pat and I go "antiquing." Replacements and eBay have been a goldmine.
Not to everyone's taste, the pattern is a combination of colorful and elegant.

The style of the cream soup is what "sold" me on the pattern - of course, this was the first piece to be discontinued. Yesterday, I got my last cream soup making a complete set of ten....forty-five years in the making.

Not quite pink, these "peach" colored goblets by Cristal D'Arques-Durand go well with "Wild Rose."

I have four different coffee pots in this pattern - this one is an individual size coffee pot (6 1/8" tall) holding three cups.

No one in the family smokes, but I had to have the matching cigarette holder and ashtray.

Where it came from:
Lace Place Mat - from Lentz Department Store (a really neat local store now out of business)
Dinnerware - "Wild Rose" by Schumann from anywhere I can find it
Glassware - "Rosaline Pink" by Cristal D'Arques-Durand from eBay and Replacements.com
Flatware - Pattern unknown from eBay several years ago
Napkin - Handmade by Pat

Royal Doulton "Baronet" Table

This week's table uses one of Pat's favorite patterns - "Baronet" by Royal Doulton (1968-1983.) It is white bone china with black scrolls on the rim trimmed in gold. Pat set the table using my very favorite Armani figurine from our Mother's collection.

Flatware is "Broadway" by Argent/Orfevres

Isn't she fabulous???? So sassy and carefree....

Goodbye Tangerine Fiestaware Table

Pat set this week's table with one of the latest Fiesta(ware) colors to be retired by the Homer Laughlin Company. Tangerine was produced from 2003 until now.
While most of the country is suffering from extreme cold weather, here in Eureka, CA, it is balmy and mild......so Pat set the table with a beach theme......(Remember last year? Record breaking rain storms and freezing cold spells........go figure....)

Place Mat and Matching Napkin - from Tuesday Morning several years ago
Wooden Charger and Salad Plate - from the Discovery Shop (the local Cancer Society's thrift store)
Dinner Plate and Bread/Butter Plate - "Tangerine" Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Macy's and Replacements.com

Teal Blue Wave Table

As Pat was pulling out dinnerware to set the table for our other blog, she spotted a stack of plates that we bought a couple years ago. She decided to use one of them for this week's Table for One.

The place mat was just "gold enough" to bring out the gold on the accent plate

Satin finish flatware with straight lines looked best with the busy design of the place mat and accent plate.

Where it came from:
Gold Place Mat - from TJMaxx last year
Charger - "Colonial Blue" Color Spectrum by Mikasa from eBay
White Dinner Plate - "Everyday" by Food Network from Kohl's several years ago
Accent Plate - "Katalla Bay" for Pier 1 purchased two years ago
Flatware - "Kyoto Gold" by Holister from Wayfair two years ago
Bread/Butter Plate - from Bed, Bath, and Beyond's "White" dinnerware collection
Glasses - from the Dollar Tree (still available)
Teal Napkin Ring - from Tailwagger's (a local animal rescue thrift store)
Candle Holders - "Juniper" Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Replacements.com
