Lenox Urban Lights Table

Pat and I walked into our local animal rescue thrift store recently and found a single place setting of beautiful Lenox Urban Lights in perfect condition. The price? Two dollars.....I had to have it for our single place setting collection (not that I need anymore, but who could pass that up?)
To give the simple but elegant plate design more presence, Pat used two charger - one gold, one black.

Pat wanted simple lines - so she used Kate Spade's "All In Good Taste" flatware by Lenox

The only design on the dinnerware is the gold and black medallion in the center

Since the black charger had to be smaller than the gold leaf charger, Pat used a black Fiesta(ware) chop plate

I like this style of footed cup compared to the flat design that a lot of dinnerware has

Where it came from:
Gold Leaf Charger - from Costco years ago
Black Charger - Fiesta(ware) chop plate by Homer Laughlin from Replacements.com
Dinnerware - "Urban Lights" by Lenox (1992-2007) from Tailwaggers (a local thrift store that benefits their no-kill animal rescue/shelter)
Glassware - "Midnight Black" by Artland Crystal from Replacements.com
Flatware - Kate Spade's "All in Good Taste" by Lenox from Wayfair
Napkin - from Tuesday Morning two years ago
Napkin Ring - from Bed, Bath, and Beyond several years ago
Armani figurine - from our Mother's collection
Candle Holders - A Depressionware gift from our Cousin

  1. Wow! $2.00 for that place setting - quite a find! It's beautiful china, and your table setting does it justice. What a pleasure it would be to dine at this table.

  2. Nicely done! Really...who says you can't/shouldn't treat "just" yourself to a lovely place setting when dining alone? It's ridiculous! I mean, really...who deserves it more than you?!???!?! I'm all for it! You and Pat do such pretty work, whether it's for a table for 12 or "just" 1!!!

  3. Lovely. Love the repetition of the black and gold from the dinnerware in the double chargers. A very sophisticated table.
