Fall Purple Challenge

It's time for another challenge from Cuisine Kathleen. This week's table is done in Fall purple - no orange. "Scream Fall or at least say it loudly" is what she said. As I explained on our other Blog (The Welcomed Guest,) we do not normally think in terms of changing colors when it comes to Fall along the extreme North Coast of California. So, we moved south and inland a little - to the Napa Valley - where it is grape harvesting time for our inspiration to this week's table.
Over view of the table - Pat used vintage "Heather" Fiesta for our "Fall purple"

Flatware is the very heavy and elegant "Classic Bead" by Reed & Barton

Pat has never "warmed" to this charger - in fact, she hates it - but it is the perfect choice for the place setting

What else? Naturally, you have to use the popular, purple crackle glassware from Pier 1

We found the purple (or amethyst) tea candles at Ross recently

Pat made the napkin ring from small grape clusters. She used two napkins - one white, one purple to match.

One last look
Where it came from:
Purple placemat - Pier 1 last year
Flatware - "Classic Bead" by Reed & Barton from Costco
Charger - from Maryland China Company (mail order)
Dinnerware - Vintage "Heather" Fiesta by Homer Laughlin from anywhere we can find it (but mostly Replacements.com)
Glassware - Purple "Crackle" from Pier 1
Napkins - Hand made by Pat
Purple Tea candles - Ross
Clear Tea Light Holders - Bed, Bath, and Beyond
Grapes - from Michael's and my kitchen

We will be joining Kathleen's "Let's Dish" Fall Challenge at Cuisine Kathleen this Wednesday: http://www.cuisinekathleen.com/

We will also be joining Christine's "Table It!" this Monday at Rustic & Refined:  http://www.rustic-refined.com/

And we will be joining Susan for "Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch this Thursday:  http://betweennapsontheporch.net/

  1. Really pretty and perfect for the challenge. I don't have much purple so this was a big challenge to me. I'll have my post up by Wed I hope. Love that color of Fiesta and yes it does remind me of the grape harvest!
