White Dish Challenge

This week's table was fun. After Cuisine Kathleen [http://www.cuisinekathleen.com/]   issued a tablescaper's challenge to design a table using only white dishes and one accent color, Pat pulled together one of her favorite dishes from our collection and went to work. She used a light peacock blue placemat as the foundation and played off that for the rest of the table.

The place setting

The napkin ring was purchased as unfinished wood at Michael's and then painted to match

First layer of the place setting by Otagiri is a shell bowl

This stunning shell shaped salad plate follows (say that three times.....oh dear, I know that somewhere up above, my 7th grade English teacher is shaking her head even after nearly 50 years.....Sorry, Mrs. Waters. I know you hated alliteration in a sentence.)

The dinner plate is the same shape

Pat used clear, simple Dollar Store glassware

Votives are the same color as the placemat

Blue and Red Tablescape

Pat found the inspiration dinner plates for this week's table on the top shelf - way in the back - of my cupboard. She climbed the ladder, pulled them out, and within ten minutes, had the table done. (Me? I just watched.....I never could figure out what to do with them - nothing ever looked good, so the dishes always sat there.)

Pat chose blue "Reflections" glassware by Imperial Glass Company

The stainless steel Dungeness napkin ring holds a bright red hand-made napkin

This charming figurine is Normal Rockwell's "Captain" by Gorham taken from the August 19,1922 Saturday Evening Post cover

Nautical looking vase and votive holders are from Michael's
