Christmas and Music Table For One

Pat wanted to use Lenox "Essex Maroon" (1938-1978) this week so she went looking for a Santa in our collection that would go with it. She found one that she liked and set the table with a somewhat unusual Christmas theme.

Pat used two chargers - she felt the place setting was "lost" sitting directly on the large maroon lacquer one

Although we do not know the name of this pattern, we use it a lot because it goes well with most dinnerware patterns

Glassware is from Pier 1 several years ago

The little wooden piano music box is somewhat of a family heirloom - our Dad bought it for his mother before WWII.

Where it came from:
Maroon Lacquer Charger - inexpensive charger from Michael's spray painted with maroon plastic adhesive spray paint
Gold Charger - from the Discovery Shop (our local Cancer Society's thrift store)
Dinnerware - "Essex Maroon" by Lenox from Replacements.com
Gold Flatware - pattern unknown from eBay
Glassware - from Pier 1 several years ago
Napkin Ring - from Bed, Bath, and Beyond (still available)
Christmas Tree, Ornaments, and Garland - from Michael's

This week, we will be joining "Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch:  http://betweennapsontheporch.net/

Dressed in Plaid Table for One

Pat decided to carry over the "plaid" theme from our other blog and set this week's table using the highly recognizable tartan pattern on the centerpiece accents as well as the dinnerware. This year, Santa's elves are dressed in their tartan vests to help decorate the Christmas tree. . . .

Flatware is "Decision" by Noritake

The plaid dinner plate and matching napkin are from Pier 1 this season

Black tumbler and stemless wine glass are also from Pier 1 but purchased years ago
