Spode Mayflower Table

This week's table was set with a lovely pattern of lavender transferware with a floral center called "Mayflower" and was produced by Spode beginning around 1929. (It was reintroduced in 2004 with production stopping in 2005.) Pat paired it with a lavender charger, lavender napkin, and lavender candles.

Flatware is "April" silverplate by International Silver Co.

The lavender charger is just an inexpensive plastic charger spray painted with glossy plastic adhesive spray paint

Notice the glass rims - they are really unusual (and unfortunately, not very practical to use)

Sunflower and Yellow Table

With Autumn more than a month away, our weather is already turning colder. Summer flowers have begun to fade and the leaves on some of the trees are drying up. Pat wanted to set a bright and cheerful table to "hold on" to some of the Summer.

From the top: "Marigold," right is "Daffodil" [Homer Laughlin stopped producing Fiesta bread and butter plates a few years ago - this is actually an appetizer plate], bottom is "Vintage Yellow," and left is "Sunflower."

Pat laid out four different colors - all in yellow tones - from our collection of Fiesta(ware) bread and butter plates to see which color went best with the dinnerware. She decided on the bottom plate - "Vintage Yellow" (1936-1969).
