Hearty Pasta Table

Pat was on another roll this week - the theme? Italian. Both of our blogs feature tablescapes with an old country feel (our dear, sweet Italian Grandma always referred to her native home land as "the old country" and never called it Italy.)

The massive individual pasta bowl is a whopping 12 1/2" across. Pat found them at Tuesday Morning several years ago for my retirement party. They were a hit with all the attendees since she served three different types of pasta.

Flatware is "Musee" by Reed & Barton

In addition to the huge pasta bowl, the set included a small bowl to hold olive oil for dipping and a bread/butter plate. The small red plate is a "Scarlett" Fiesta(ware) bread and butter plate by Homer Laughlin.

Pat placed a small bowl of red geraniums in the center of the table for added color

Pat even made the candles for the table taking old wine bottles that she found and melted inexpensive red and white candles from the Dollar Tree (expensive candles do not work since they don't melt like the cheap ones)

Glamour and Glitz With Betty and Lenox Table

This table combines two of my favorite things: Betty Boop and Lenox dinnerware. (Yes, it is a weird combination, but it seems to work.....)

Pat set the table using two Betty's - the nearly 4" tall Betty does her best Vanna White imitation "showing the table"....

Dinnerware is "Mansfield" by Lenox - its simplicity makes it perfect to mix patterns

I nearly died when Pat and her daughter carried a huge box into my living room several years ago - then I opened it....WOW! I fell in love. Needless to say, Betty made herself at home in the living room...…..
