Labor Day - American Made Style

Both of our tablescaping blogs this week feature tables that use American made items exclusively - no easy task in this day of cheaper imports and outsourcing labor. In all honesty, we started and set a causal table using classic "American made" Pfaltzgraff dinnerware, but, much to our dismay, we discovered that the Naturewood luncheon plate we used was made in China. So, we cleared the table, switched themes and chose Lenox. Since the older pattern Pat chose is the discontinued "Mansfield" and is part of the Presidential collection, we hope it was made in the good ole USA.

The table - boy, did we ever have problems finding candles and then, there it was. The candles are from Bed, Bath, and Beyond and manufactured by "Zodax" (a company right here in California). What a nice surprise!

Turqoise Adelaide Table

It seems that the common denominator for our tablescape blogs this week is the color turquoise ("The Welcomed Guest" has a turquoise and chocolate theme) - it wasn't done on purpose, it just happened. For this table, Pat put together 222 Fifth Street's Turquoise Adelaide with lots of black.

Ah, ha! There it is - the turquoise candle...... Pat turned two shorter candle holders over to add interest.
