Spode Mayflower Table for One

Taking a break from another Autumn tablescape, Pat set the table this week using one of our dish patterns that we haven't used in the past. It is vintage "Spode's Mayflower" - one of the porcelain maker's most popular patterns, and indeed, one of the best selling patterns of all time by any maker according to Harry Rinker's book, Dinnerware of The 20th Century: The Top 500 Patterns.

The table - since the dishware and flatware patterns are so "busy," Pat chose to use a simple white tablecloth

Twisted handled flatware is "Silver Tear" by Gourmet Settings. Pat chose this pattern since the rim of the plate has a similar twisted look.

Crystal glassware is "Omega" Marquis by Waterford

Once again, Pat took an inexpensive lacquer charger (found on sale at Michael's) and spray painted it in a coordinating purple color.

You can see that the cream soup liner is just slightly smaller than the salad plate

Fall Winds Table for One

With winds gusting and lots of rain coming down (YES!!!!) outside, it seemed appropriate to set a table to match. Everyone is in great spirits - it is suppose to storm all weekend. It does not mean an end to the drought, but it does signal a chance for a wet winter.

Pat placed a glass amber plate with embossed leaves on a white luncheon plate to show off the detail

Wispy looking (or maybe wind blown?) flatware is "Treble Clef" by Gourmet Settings

Pat tried many other water/wine glasses but settled on an old favorite - from the Dollar Store

What could be more colorful? Three different colors of napkins held by a jumbo (actually, a curtain ring) napkin ring spray painted "Nutmeg Brown"

Small leaf shaped bowls acted as votive holders
